	There's Still Time: Stop the War with Iraq! Key members of the U.N. Security Council said on Wednesday, January 29 that the United States has so far failed to convince them that time has run out for a peaceful resolution to the crisis with Iraq. At a crucial council meeting a day after President Bush's State of the Union speech, 11 of the 15 members supported giving more time to weapons inspectors to pursue Iraq's peaceful disarmament. Tell President Bush and Congress that you support the decision of the United Nations Security Council.

Security Council's decision on Wednesday, January 29 to allow more time for Iraqi weapons inspections, and I strongly urge the U.S. government to refrain from rushing to war with Iraq. Our government continues to lack much-needed international support in order to wage war with Iraq. Anti-U.S. sentiment around the world has reached unprecedented levels. To initiate a unilateral strike against Iraq would only heighten hostility toward the U.S., especially within Arab nations. My faith community, the United Church of Christ, is committed to working for a just peace in the Middle East. Waging war against the people of Iraq would only heighten the tensions in this troubled region. I implore you to stop the march toward war which needlessly threatens thousands of lives and begin working for real and lasting peace.
